SOWPODS Y Words not Followed by a Vowel

The Ypsilon, a car produced by Lancia, a letter of the Greek alphabet (also known as upsilon) and a word in SOWPODS

Some of the most interesting words in SOWPODS are the words that have a Y without directly being followed by a vowel. The vast majority of these words (ypsilon being one of the exceptions) are relics of an archaic way of forming the past participles of verbs, by means of adding an initial Y. As very few people know these words, they are a great way to pick up easy points in some games. Here is a full list:
