OUT- words Part 1

Definition for the Day: 'Outfangthief', from the archaic 'utfangtheof': the right of ancient lords to summon any within their demenses who had committed crimes outside of their limits to judgment at their courts. Infangthief (from 'infangtheof' or 'infangennetheof' was the right to call those accused of crimes within the demense to judgment). Some of you may remember the term from the following poem from W.C. Sellar and R.J. Yeatman's 1066 And All That:
